Set in over 30,000 acres (47 square miles) the parks total land is roughly the same size as greater Manchester or twice the size of Manhattan island New York. Of all 4 theme parks at Disney Florida all are in the top ten of the worlds most visited with Magic Kingdom being the number one most visited park in the world with almost 17 million guests each year.

Magic Kingdom

Follow your childhood dreams in this park, Cinderella’s castle dominates the park which will be one of your major photo opportunities that you will look back on for years to come. This was the first of the Disney parks built in 1971 and as it has evolved over the years it has not lost any of its original magic and remains the most visited park in the world as a result. With 5 separate lands to explore each with its own theme it provides a great family day with loads of attractions to keep you busy.
Tomorrowland offers a glimpse into what has been Disney’s view of the future over the years, with great rides including Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear’s space ranger spin and the Monsters Inc laugh floor this is a great place to spend a few hours. Fantasyland’s main attraction is of course that true image everyone thinks of about Disney, Cinderella’s castle.


Frontierland takes you back to America’s Wild West, with the thunder mountain railroad, and Splash Mountain to keep you cool. Liberty square is the smallest area and gives a colonial feel to America’s history and the haunted mansion can also be found here. And finally adventureland, a great area to explore with the new Pirates of the Caribbean and the magic carpets of Aladdin amongst its many attractions this is well worth a visit. Perhaps the most memorable part of your time in the magic kingdom will be the Disney parade where your favourite characters come to life in a breathtaking show as they pass before you, the highlight of course being Mickey himself. Throughout your day there will be several opportunities to see the stars of this park adding to the magic of the magic kingdom.


Epcot

The second park to built Epcot provides a true vision for tomorrow where imagination plays a key role as you are entertained through your day. Rides here include, Test Track where you get to ride in a vehicle as it gets put through some interesting and often thrilling tests, Honey I shrunk the audience which is a great 3D adventure, Seas with Nemo and friends which is a great underwater tour where you will meet Nemo himself and the new Spaceship earth where you travel through time from the beginnings of our planet through to today. The greatest attraction however has to be the World showcase, where you travel around the lake stopping at all the different nations experiencing their culture, food and traditions as you go. It is here you will be sure to stay in the evening to experience illuminations: Reflections of Earth, a truly sensational firework and laser show that occurs each night and will leave you breathless.

MGM Studios

Opened in 1989, MGM studios brought Hollywood to Florida. The movies are the theme here and many are brought to life with the great attractions this park has to offer. The Backlot tour gives a great insight into the world of special effects and is a must, Indiana Jones Stunt house spectacular is a great show where the amazing stunts of those films are brought to life. Jim Henson’s Muppet vision 3D will be sure to have you in Tears of laughter and the Twilight zone tower of terror will have your adrenaline pumping as you prepare for that sudden 13 story drop. MGM Studios also features one of the best roller coasters in Florida, The Rock”n”Roller coaster will shock and thrill you as you accelerate in the dart at 0-60mph in just 2.8 seconds.

This park is a great day for all the family and is completed by a trip to see the incredible Fantastic show where Mickey fights the bad guys from the Disney archives, a show that will entertain all the family and provides a great stadium atmosphere.

Animal Kingdom

At 500 acres and featuring 1700 animals, Animal Kingdom is a spectacular natural park that cost nearly $1 billion dollars to create and opened in 1998. Expedition Everest is the newest attraction and takes guest on a thrilling forward and backward roller coaster ride to find the elusive Yeti. The tree of life is the parks most famous sight and has the brilliant Bugs life 3D show which will have you in stitches. At Dinoland USA you will got close to those exiting creatures and this is a great one for the kids. The Kali river rapids are a great way to cool down from the burning Florida sun and have to be one of the best water rides around today. Festival of the lion king is a great show that will bring this great films music and characters to life. Loads of other attractions can be explored in this park and it makes for an unforgettable experience that everyone will enjoy.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach

Where else in the worlds can you relax under a tropical sun, with a snow-capped landscape and enjoy both thrilling and relaxing water rides, answer nowhere. This is exactly what the wonderful Blizzard beach has to offer, an array of water rides including the hair-raising Summit plummet, at 120 feet high and reached by mountain cable car you then travel at around 60mph to reach the bottom. Loads of other chutes are available to try or there is the lazy river ride where you relax on your very own rubber tube and journey around the park. The pools also have wave machines and with beaches and beach bars relaxing here is easy and makes a great way to spend a day unwinding after several days in the busier parks.

Typhoon Lagoon

A great water park, typhoon lagoon has an array of thrilling and relaxing water rides. With one of the world’s largest wave pool it offers fun, excitement and relation for all the family. There is even a surf pool where you get the opportunity to ride the waves to your hearts content. This park is great for relaxing or thrill seeking and a must for a day away from the other parks of Florida.

Downtown Disney

A unique and fascinating night venue Downtown Disney offers a variety of dining and entertainment options for the whole family to enjoy. At Disney quest you get the opportunity to experience cutting edge technology and attractions in over 100,000 square feet of fun. Scores of restaurants, shops, bars and nightclubs provide for great entertainment and there is even a firework show to enjoy. Downtown Disney makes for a great evening that you are sure to enjoy and want to experience again and again.

Disney’s wide world of sports

This is a great venue to explore the world of sport and offers a different kind of day to the many other attractions in the area. Sporting events are held here for you to view and enjoy year round and almost any sport you could expect can be seen here, from soccer to waterskiing it can all be enjoyed at the wide world of sports.

Tickets for the park are great value and can be purchased in 5, 7 and 10 days. These are much better value when purchased in advance and work out cheaper day for day than most of the theme parks in United Kingdom and you are seeing the world’s greatest park. Plan the time you need carefully, for all the Disney parks a family would need at least 2 days in each to see everything and possibly more, the water parks can however be done in a day but many want to revisit.
