Kissimmee covers a large area and located conveniently for the amazing Walt Disney World Resort. The area is located just south of Orlando and is approximately 30 minutes drive from Orlando international airport.

Kissimmee is a quieter and more tranquil option than International Drive, with fewer crowds spread over a larger area it is easier to relax after a hard day at the parks. Kissimmee does have its own lower key attractions and these are very enjoyable in their own right and tend not to be a hectic as some of their rivals in Orlando, these include Gatorland a 70 acre park filled with the regions native alligators, Water mania another water park and similar to the others at Disney and in Orlando but easier to access from Kissimmee and several airboat companies who will take you on a thrilling adventure into Florida’s Wetlands.

The most popular choice of accommodation in Kissimmee is a private villa. Most are stunning with private pools, immaculate furnishing and their own private garage these make a wonderful base for a family holiday. A villa in Florida gives you complete freedom, not only are they great with high comfort levels they are also well placed for exploring the area, have kitchen facilities so you have the option of entertaining yourselves and offer great relaxation. Staying in a villa and being located a bit further out does mean hiring a car is essential, having your vehicle means you have the freedom to explore the area at your leisure and with fuel so cheap in comparison to the U.K. it is also a great value way to get around.

Overall Kissimmee is a great choice for those wanting the fun of Orlando’s parks but with the option to get away from the hustle and bustle and spend a little time relaxing, still however giving you a great location to explore the region.
